Are you convinced on the health benefits of avocados? Okay, great. Here’s how to pick a good avocado.
- Look for avocados with dull dark green skin that are heavy. This means they’re ripe.
- Gently squeeze the avocado with the palm of your hand. It needs to be not too hard and not too soft.
- Shake the avocado and if you hear the pit move, it’s a bad one.
- Most fully ripened avocados at the grocery store might already be pretty banged up. So grab a few green ones and store them at home. They’ll be ready in a few days.
